Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

LocoCount ("the Service") collects the following information:

  • Email address (provided at sign-up)
  • Display name and profile picture (if you choose to set them). Display names must be unique across the Service.
  • Topics you post and your cheer (count-up) history
  • Daily post and count totals (used to enforce per-plan rate limits)
  • Current plan (Free / Pro) and purchase history
  • IP address (used to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits)
  • Payment details are collected and stored by Stripe. The Service does not receive or store card numbers.

2. How we use your information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate your account and enforce display-name uniqueness
  • To prevent abuse and apply per-plan (Free / Pro) rate limits
  • To process payments for paid features (Pro subscription, TopicSupport cheer payments)
  • To enforce the Terms of Service
  • To send important notices about the Service

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following cases:

  • With your consent
  • When disclosure is required by law

The Service relies on the following external providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)infrastructure, authentication (Cognito), and data storage (DynamoDB).
  • Stripepayment processing. Card information is handled exclusively by Stripe.
  • Google AdSensead delivery. Cookies may be used to show interest-based advertising.

4. Cookies

We may use cookies to improve service quality and to deliver ads. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features of the Service may not work correctly if you do.

5. Data security

We manage personal information responsibly and take reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Data is stored using AWS services and follows industry-standard security practices.

6. Access, correction, and deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. For information that cannot be changed from the settings screen, please email lococount.official@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as needed. When we make significant changes, we will announce them in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Data retention

Personal information associated with your account (email address, display name, profile picture, posting history, and count history) will be deleted within 30 days after we receive an account-deletion request. Payment-related information (purchase history, invoices, subscription state) is retained for 7 years in accordance with tax and accounting record-keeping obligations. Operational logs (access and error logs) are retained for up to 90 days for service-reliability purposes and automatically deleted thereafter.

10. International data transfers

The core infrastructure of the Service (Cognito, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3) runs in AWS Tokyo region (ap-northeast-1) and data is stored within Japan. However, Stripe, Inc., which processes payments on our behalf, handles data in the United States and countries where its affiliates operate (e.g. Ireland). Google AdSense is operated by Google LLC (United States), and cookie-related data may be transmitted to the United States. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers and to the respective providers' privacy policies.
